Marlene M. Stutzman, 70, LaGrange, died, Friday, Oct. 6, at Life Care at Center of LaGrange after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born June 6, 1947, in Sturgis, Michigan, to Willard and Clara (Miller) Gerber.
Marlene worked in the cafeteria at Parkside Elementary for 32 years, retiring in 2012. She was an avid baseball and Indiana Hoosiers fan.
On Sept. 28, 1968, she married Jay Stutzman. He preceded her in death April 19, 2009.
Surviving Marlene are her three children, Jeff Stutzman, Goshen, Jennifer (Clifford) Lloyd Jr., Sturgis, Michigan and Jason (Amira) Stutzman, Arlington Heights, Illinois; four grandchildren, Connor Lloyd, Christian Lloyd, Ruby Stutzman and Jasper Stutzman; two brothers; Richard (Myrna) Gerber, Shipshewana, and Phil (Tamra) Gerber, Angola.
Funeral services for Marlene will take place at Shore Mennonite Church, Shipshewana, Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Rustin Krapfl will officiate.
Burial will take place at Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Visitation for Marlene will take place at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange, Tuesday, Oct. 10, from 3 to 7 p.m.
Memorials may be contributed to the American Cancer Society.
