Marilyn  Walsmith


Marilyn E. Walsmith died at her home in Elkhart Feb. 23, 2019.
She was born near Redkey on Aug. 9, 1933, to Ray and Marietta (Ritter) Tharp. On June 22, 1958, she married James Lee Walsmith, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, James F. of Memphis, Tennessee, Steven R. (Karen Puckett) of Carmel, and Sharon L. (Jim Coffing) of Indianapolis. Also surviving are four beloved nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Marjorie (Tharp) Sockrider and brother Merritt "Bud" Tharp.
Marilyn attended Beulah Missionary Church. She enjoyed working in the kitchen, preparing healthful and delicious meals for her family and friends. She loved without reservation, always putting her family before herself. She will be sadly missed.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at Beulah Missionary Church, 57595 Old County Road 17, Goshen, with Pastor Earl Smith officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery in Dunkirk.
