Marilyn Lou (Ferverda) Bayak, 75, Goshen, died at 9:28 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born July 17, 1942, to Harold and Marie (Sunday) Ferverda. She was raised by her grandfather, Roscoe Ferverda, and Ruby Burton.
On Oct. 6, 1963, she married Roger Francis Bayak. He died Feb. 20, 2017.
Surviving are her fiance, Joe Crivello, Monticello; son, Andy (Paula) Bayak, Osceola; daughter, Wendy (Kevin) Hite, New Paris; adopted son, Wojtek, Poland; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Rick (Carol) Wilson, Indiana, Sandy (Dick) Adams, Mexico, Indiana, Joe Ferverda, Texas; uncle, Stanley Williams, Silver Lake; aunt, Eleanore Bajak, Prudenville, Michigan' brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David (Marsha) Bayak, Michigan; very dear nieces, nephews, cousins, many dear friends; her dog, Sam; and cat, Clancy.
Preceding her in death are her parents and husband, Roger.
Marilyn was a secretary for 42 years, 37 years at Goshen College. She was a member of the New Paris Missionary Church where she was very actively involved and a part of the Women's Ministry Team.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Goshen and of Crazy Horse Memorial, South Dakota. Marilyn was a volunteer at Goshen Hospital. She was an organ donor through the Indiana Donor Network.
Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Friday, March 16, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, and one hour prior to the memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at New Paris Missionary Church, 67621 Ind. 15, New Paris. Pastor Dave Hackney and Pastor Matt Schoettle will officiate.
Marilyn's wishes were to be cremated. Burial will be at a later date in New Paris Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Goshen Veterans Honor Guard, New Paris Missionary Church or An Orphan Smiles, P.O. Box 175, Kimberton, PA 19442.
