Maria Schuller, age 93, of Wakarusa, died at 8 p.m., Thursday, March 8, at Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth, after an extended illness.
She was born April 6, 1924, in Romania, to George and Maria (Nierlich) Zakel.
On January 21, 1942, she married Gustav Schuller in Romania. He preceded her in death March 29, 1981.
Maria and her husband moved to the United States in 1956 from Austria. She had worked for T.J. Snuggles in Bremen. Maria formerly attended Wakarusa Church of the Brethren, and currently attended Wakarusa United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Maria Avery, Chicago, Gustav Schuller, Dallas, Texas, Wilhelm (Cheryl) Schuller, Murphy, North Carolina; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Rosina Berendt, Germany.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gustav Schuller; a brother and sister.
Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Monday, March 12, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 13, also at the funeral home. Rev. Ed Geleske will officiate.
Burial will be in Olive West Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Wakarusa United Methodist Church or Wakarusa Little League Program.
