Mahala K. Yoder, 33, Shipshewana died at 10:06 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, from injuries sustained in a bicycle/automobile crash on Ind. 5 in Shipshewana earlier that day.
She was born Sept. 17, 1983, in Hazleton, Iowa, to Aaron A. and Katherine (Troyer) Borntreger.
On June 18, 2009, in Bethany, Missouri, she married Marvin N. Yoder, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, who live in Welch, Oklahoma; six sisters, Mary (Reuben) Miller, Harwood, Missouri, Kathryn (Kenneth Lee) Yoder, Welch, Martha (Daniel) Yoder, Princeton, Missouri, Fannie (Jonathan) Miller, Barbara Borntreger and Rebecca Borntreger all of Welch; four brothers, Edward (Mary) Borntreger, Bethany, John (Ada) Borntreger, Princeton, Abraham (Emma) Borntreger, Garnett, Kansas, and Andrew (Katie) Borntreger, Princeton.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Laura Borntreger; and a brother, Aaron K. Borntreger Jr.
Mahala was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, and all day Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Leonard Schwartz residence, 8195 W. Ind. 120, Shipshewana, where funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 27. Services will be conducted by Bishop Levi E. Miller and the home ministers.
Burial will be at Lehman Cemetery, Shipshewana.
