Lydia's Story

Lydia Ann Ramer, 69, Elkhart, died at 10:35 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at her home.
She was born Nov. 15, 1948, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to Barton and Lydia (Zimmerman) Horst.
She married Dana M. Ramer Nov. 19, 1970.
Surviving are her husband, Dana; five children, Ina (Enos) Weaver, New Paris, Elaine (Allen) Imhoff, Argos, Arlin (Regina) Ramer, Sheridan, Michigan, Vivian (Daniel) Imhoff, Goshen, and Dana Harold (Lucinda) Ramer, Elkhart; 38 grandchildren; nine siblings, Florence Kulp, Goshen, Melvin (Naomi) Horst, Pennsylvania, Sarah Hoover, Missouri, Edwin (Esther) Horst, Pennsylvania, Ida (Elias) Martin, Goshen, Ella (Ivan) Horning, New York, James (Ada) Horst, Pennsylvania, Laura (Ivan) Zimmerman, Kentucky, and Miriam (Allen) Garman, Pennsylvania.
Preceding her in death are her parents; stillborn daughter, Dorcas Ramer; two grandchildren, DeWynn Imhoff and Ruth Weaver; sisters, Vera Fox and Elsie Weaver; and a brother, Amos Horst.
Lydia was a homemaker, farmer's wife and a member of Yellow Creek Old Order Mennonite Church.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, and Sunday, Jan. 21, at the family residence, 28442 C.R. 30, Elkhart.
A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at Yellow Creek Old Order Mennonite Church, Goshen. The home ministers will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Yellow Creek Frame Cemetery.
