Lydia J. Bontrager, 88, Goshen, died at 8:07 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at Millers Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
She was born July 31, 1929, in Centreville, Michigan, to Jacob and Susan (Miller) Bontrager.
On Sept. 25, 1958, in Goshen, she married Clarence Bontrager, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Evelyn (Ralph) Harshbarger, Wheatland, Wyoming, Miriam Bontrager, Spooner, Wisconsin; two sons, Mervin Bontrager, Goshen, Devon (Katherine) Bontrager, Wheatland, Wyoming; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Fannie Hochstetler, Dunlap, Katie Bontrager, Michigan; brother, Albert Bontrager, Branch, Michigan; sister-in-law, Mary Bontrager, Nappanee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Glen Ray Bontrager; and brother, Eli Bontrager.
Lydia was a member of Salem Mennonite Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing carpets, crocheting and gardening.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Monday, Feb. 12, all at Salem Mennonite Church, 23984 C.R. 46, New Paris. Services will be conducted by the home ministers of Salem Mennonite Church.
Burial will be at Salem Cemetery.
