Leon Schlemmer

Leon Schlemmer, 64, Goshen, died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at his residence, after a battle with stage 4 lung cancer.
He was born April 3, 1953, in Bremen, to Junior George and Janet Rose (Newcomer) Schlemmer.
Mr. Schlemmer was a graduate of Penn High School. He had retired from Foamcraft where he had worked for more than 30 years. He was also a farmer and did carpentry work. Mr. Schlemmer loved John Deere tractors.
Surviving are his partner of 24 years, Stevie Joe Arnold; daughters, Melissa Schlemmer and Amanda (Altron) Hayes, both of Goshen; godson, Stephan Arnold; grandchildren, Destanie and Dakota Kyle, Kaylee Maurer, Kiara, Kirsten, Kasey and David Jr. Rodriguez; and brother, Ronald Schlemmer, Plymouth.
Family and friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa, and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Monday, Nov. 27, also at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor David Hackney.
Burial will be at Union Center Cemetery.
