Keith Wilbur McCuen, 82, Nappanee, died at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Goshen General Hospital, after complications of dementia.
He was born March 16, 1935, to Clifford and Marjorie (Naylor) McCuen. He was a lifelong area resident.
Keith's first marriage was to Carol Sue Martin in January 1954.
His second marriage was to Sue Ann Forrest, Dec. 22, 1974, in Nappanee.
Keith was a 1953 Nappanee High School graduate. He was a member of the National Guard.
Keith had worked at Holiday Rambler as a salesman, Nappanee Wood as part owner, and was a owner/operator at Chevron Corp. in Elkhart. He was also part owner of Longwood Traveler in Longwood, Florida, worked for Borkholder Buildings, and in retirement, he worked for Digger Specialty and delivered RVs.
Keith enjoyed mushroom hunting, camping, fishing on Lake Wawasee, Chicago Cubs and all NorthWood sports. His mushroom hunting buddies were Don and Lynn Cain, Everet Stutzman, Warren Burke, Glen Reed, Dick Felts and Bill and Bob Strang.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Ann McCuen; daughters, Deb (Devon) Herr, Diane (Dennis) Carr, and Darla McCuen (Dwayne Lape), all of Nappanee, and Ja-Lyn McCuen (Gabe Elswick) Elkhart; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne McCuen, Nappanee.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Courtney and Jason McCuen; granddaughter, Dawn Herr; great-grandson, Drew Fish; special nephew, Jerry McCuen; and brother, Lowell McCuen.
Family and friends may call from 2-8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 4, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
Funeral services will begin at noon Monday, Feb. 5, at Nappanee United Methodist Church. The Revs. Jim Davidson and Bob Wyman will officiate.
Burial and military graveside rites will take place at Union Center Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to SAL, Goshen Hospice or Nappanee United Methodist Church.
