Kathryn "Kate"'s Story
Kathryn V. "Kate" Stutsman, 85, Goshen, died at 5:10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at her home.
She was born Aug. 2, 1932, in Goshen, to Arthur and Leona (Morey) Doerscher.
She married David R. Stutsman, Aug. 7, 1949. He died June 14, 2016.
Surviving are her children, Michael (Kathy) Stutsman, Goshen, Steven (Kristie) Stutsman, Elkhart, and Elizabeth Eldridge, Goshen; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; son, James Brian Stutsman; brothers, Arthur, Kenneth, Forrest and Bill Doerscher; and a sister, Jerry Gorbitz.
Kate worked for 37 years at Johnson Controls and also worked as a waitress for various restaurants and cafeterias in the area. She was a member of West Goshen Church of the Brethren, Women of the Moose, VFW Auxiliary and the DAV Auxiliary. Her hobbies included playing bingo, euchre, camping and going on cruises. Kate enjoyed helping people. Her favorite thing to do was spending time being with family, especially her grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service, Friday, Oct. 27, at West Goshen Church of the Brethren, 1200 Berkey Ave., Goshen. Pastor Norm Replogle will officiate.
Burial will follow at West Goshen Cemetery.
