Katherine E. Longenecker, 96, Bristol, passed away at 5:55 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, at Goshen Hospital.
She was born Nov. 28, 1921, in Cromwell, to Eldon and Rosa K. (Knepper) Stoner. She graduated in 1941 from Cromwell High School.
On Sept. 29, 1945, she married Walter Calvin Longenecker in Wakarusa. He passed away in 2001.
She was formerly employed at Mid America Electronics in Middlebury for 11 years and Patchwork Quilt Country Inn in Middlebury for 11 years.
She moved to Syracuse in 2010 from the Middlebury area, where she had lived since 1963, and then to Bristol in 2017. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bristol.
She is survived by son, Terry Longenecker, Milford; daughter, Sherry Detwiler, Goshen; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Billie Longenecker; sister, Karyll Hull; four brothers, Kenneth, Kermit, Kletus and Kelvin Stoner; and fiance, Arthur Kolberg.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Lewis of Bristol United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow at Indian Village Cemetery.
