Juanita May (Petry) Frederick, 92, died peacefully on Thursday evening, Dec. 21, surrounded by her family at Greencroft Healthcare, where she had been a patient for three years.
On June 6, 1925, Juanita was born in Greenville, Ohio, to Andrew Petry and Stella Rife. Juanita married Carlyle Frederick on July 6, 1947, and remained a devoted wife until his death on July 31, 2013. They resided in rural Nappanee until they moved to the Greencroft Community in Goshen.
She was also mother to four children: Lynn Frederick (Beth Braden), Joyce Fry (Randy Fry), Jolene Czosnowski (Paul Czosnowski) and Judith Frederick (Dan Klopfenstein). She dearly loved her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Frederick was known to many for her work as a reading instruction aide at Union Center Elementary School. She also was a member of Union Center Church of the Brethren. Her pleasant attitude and beautiful smile brought joy to all who met her.
Juanita is preceded in death by four siblings: Harley Petry, Alva Petry, Arthur Petry and Ailene Bevins, all of southern Ohio, and one great-grandson, Curtis Ramer.
Juanita has graciously donated her body to Indiana University Anatomical Education Program. A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Union Center Church of the Brethren, Nappanee. There will be a fellowship time following the service.
