Jesse O. Schlabach, 84, Goshen, died at 9:19 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at his residence, of an apparent heart attack.
He was born June 2, 1933, in Goshen, to Osa and Mary Ann (Stutzman) Schlabach.
On Nov. 30, 1961, in LaGrange County, he married Rosie Hochstetler. She died March 31, 1988.
On June 27, 1991, in Topeka, he married Susie Yoder, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Martha (Amos) Yoder, Lancaster, Missouri, Wilma (Devon) Hochstetler, Middlebury, and Ruth (Howard) Lambright, Goshen; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents; two brothers, Henry and Alpha Schlabach; one great-granddaughter.
Jesse was a retired farmer and member of Old Order Church, ordained as minister in 1968 and bishop in 1970.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, and all day Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the Howard Lambright residence, 62308 C.R. 37, Goshen. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, also at the Howard Lambrights. Services will be conducted by Bishop Ernest Schrock and the home ministers.
Burial will be at Nisley Cemetery, Goshen.
