Jean Shupp, 62, Bourbon, died, Saturday, May 11, as result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Bourbon.
She was born Dec. 17, 1956, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to Elmer and Elva (Keens) Martin.
She married Rick Shupp Nov. 21, 1981, in Akron, Pennsylvania.
Rick and Jean moved here from Maryland five years ago. Mrs. Shupp was a homemaker and was a driver for the Amish community. She was a member of Clay Street Mennonite Church in Bourbon.
Jean was a people person and her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She enjoyed flowers and her love language was giving to others.
Mrs. Shupp is survived by her husband, Rick; children, Marcus (Charlou) Shupp, Nappanee, Jordan (Jeralyn) Shupp, Etna Green, Lucia (Shawn) Martin, Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and Melissa (Derrick) Eby, Hancock, Maryland; grandchildren, Elmer, Renee, Javon, Nathaniel, Winston, Carter, Todd, Jenna, Arianna and Tanner; mother, Elva Martin, Lititz, Pennsylvania; sister, Carol (Bill) Hess, McIntosh, Minnesota; mother-in-law, Janice Shupp, Denver, Pennsylvania; and Logan and Levi Brooks, who knew her as Mama Jean.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Martin, and father-in-law, Walter Shupp.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, May 14, from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, May 15, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Sandy Ridge Mennonite Church, Bremen, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Thursday, May 16, also at the church. Officiating will be the Clay Street Home Ministry.
Burial will be at Berea Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Arrangements are with & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
