Jay V. Klein, 77, Mishawaka, formerly of Wakarusa and Goshen, died at 2:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
He was born April 26, 1940, in Mishawaka, to Ralph Klein and Ruby (Culp) Chitty.
He married Betty (Booker) Klein June 27, 1998.
Surviving are his wife, Betty, Mishawaka; children, Sheila Klein, Mountain Grove, Missouri, Jeff Klein, Elkhart, Jimmy (Chris) Klein, Middlebury; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Lenny Klein, California, and Wade Klein, Arizona; stepchildren, James W. Tibbs, Lakeville, Kenny Tibbs, Plymouth, Debbie (Tim) Flicker, Elkhart, Dennis (Polly) Tibbs, Mishawaka, Susan (Robert) Riddle, Mishawaka, Tami (Jeffery) Buford, Mishawaka; 18 stepgrandchildren; 24 stepgreat-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jay was an auto body technician at Lochmandy Motors and loved working on cars and anything with a motor. He served as a deacon at Michiana Church of God.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Saturday, March 3, with a service following at 6 p.m., all at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. The Rev. Denver Burns will officiate.
