James F. Myers, 89, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, at his home.
He was born March 14, 1928, in Goshen, to Forrest and Evelyn (Moody) Myers.
On June 12, 1948, he married Jacqueline Rhude in Goshen. She survives along with three children, David (Liz) Myers and Marlene Sue (Jere) Bigler, both of Goshen, and Marchia L. (Calvin) Berkey, Sarasota, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Kitson, Sutherlin, Oregon; and brother, Ned (Linda) Myers, Goshen.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by grandchildren, Jessica Myers, Alex Gonzalez and Jacob Myers; brothers, George and Don Myers; and sisters, Edith Hartzler, Dorothy Comstock and Virginia Heerschop.
A United States Navy veteran, James was a Goshen High School graduate and worked at Western Rubber Company for more than 30 years before retiring as a foreman. Following his retirement, he owned and operated Hillside Nursery. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Goshen, and currently attended Sugar Grove Church, Goshen.
Friends may call Monday, March 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sugar Grove Church, 58512 Old C.R. 17, Goshen, and Tuesday, March 6, from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at the church. The Rev. Tony Tice, Sugar Grove Church, and retired Rev. Louis Showers will officiate.
Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Goshen.
