James E. "Jim" Lough, 96, passed away Sunday, March 11, at Warsaw Meadows.
He was born in Angola, July 17, 1921, to Coy O. and Martha (Pollock) Lough.
On Sept. 12, 1944, he married Virginia J. Hicks in Indianapolis. They lived in several locations before making their final home at Lake Papakeechie.
Jim worked for the South Bend Bait and Tackle Company for 16 years, retiring as vice president of sales. He loved fishing and traveling with his wife.
He served his country stateside as a second lieutenant pilot instructor in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of Grace Bible Baptist Church, New Paris.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years; parents; brothers, John M. Lough and Robert Norwood Lough; and sister, Marguerite Avonelle Lough.
Survivors include sister, Marilyn J. Pattinson, Boca Raton, Florida; sons, Mark Lough, Onekama, Michigan, Jeff (Debrah) Lough, Dayton, Ohio, and John (Jo) Lough, Greenbank, Washington; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday, March 16, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Mike Gross will officiate.
Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier.
