Ida J. Miller


Ida J. Miller, 83, LaGrange, died at 4:35 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Miller's Merry Manor, LaGrange.
She was born Sept. 18, 1935, in Nappanee, to Joseph and Ida (Miller) Slabaugh.
On Dec. 15, 1955, she married Elmer J. Miller. He died Sept. 12, 2013.
Surviving are two daughters, Nora (Samuel) Brandenberger, Shipshewana, and Etta Fern (Amos) Glick, LaGrange; two sons, Harlan (Ruby) Miller and Vernon (Luanne) Miller, both of Shipshewana; 11 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Edna (John) Swartz, Nappanee, and Sylvia Miller, Dunnegan, Missouri; and three brothers, Tobe (Elizabeth) Slabaugh and Chris (Alma) Slabaugh both of Nappanee, and Lester (Ann) Slabaugh, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sons, Wayne and Kenneth Miller; grandson, Jason Brandenberger; and sister, Wilma Eash.
Ida was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, and all day Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Ray Troyer residence, 0600 N. 700 West, LaGrange.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, also at the Ray Troyer residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Gerald Troyer and the home ministers.
Burial will be at East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Arrangements are with Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury.
