Fanny Christner, 98, Shipshewana, died at 10:03 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Life Care Center, LaGrange.
She was born Dec. 25, 1918, in LaGrange County, to Sam A. and Edna (Yoder) Schlabach.
On Oct. 31, 1946, in Topeka, she married Christian Christner. He passed away Sept. 1, 1994.
Surviving are two daughters, Edna (Daniel) Hochstetler, Shipshewana, and Mary (Ferman) Miller, Goshen; two sons, Amos (Fannie) Christner, Delhi, Iowa, and William "Willy" (Esther) Christner, Shipshewana; 13 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren; five sisters, Emma Hochstetler, Lizzie Bender, Edna Mast, Mattie Mullet and Katie (Felty) Fry, all of Topeka; and brother, Ervin Schlabach of Shipshewana.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; great-grandson, Kyle Bunten; and three sisters, Susan Stutzman, Wilma Mullet and Ida Schlabach.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, and all day Saturday, Sept. 2, at the Arlin Lambright residence, 510 W. Middlebury St., Shipshewana, where funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 3. Services will be conducted by Bishop Jerry Miller and the home ministers.
Burial will be at East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.
