Erma Hochstetler, age 76, of Nappanee, died at 11:04 am, Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at her residence after a battle with cancer for 3 years and 4 months.
She was born Sept. 20, 1941, in New Paris, to Menno J. and Sarah (Burkholder) Miller.
Mrs. Hochstetler grew up in Arthur, Illinois, and moved to Nappanee after her marriage Sept. 19, 1961, to Earl E. Hochstetler.
Mrs. Hochstetler was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Mrs. Hochstetler is survived by her husband, Earl E. Hochstetler, children, Gary Lee Hochstetler, David Lynn (Laura) Hochstetler, both of Nappanee, Sandra Kay (Gary) Miller, Milroy, Kenneth Eugene (Marian) Hochstetler, Sullivan, Illinois, John Wayne (Ada) Hochstetler, Milford, Rosanna (Lavern) Bender, Bremen, Linda (Mark) Borkholder, Nappanee; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, brothers, Andy (Beverly) Miller, Bloomfield, Iowa, Lonnie Miller, Mattoon, Illinois, Allen ( Fannie) Miller, Middlebury, Ervin (Nancy) Miller, Arcola, Illinois, Howard (Betty) Miller, Arthur, Illinois; sisters, Clara (Mahlon) Beachy, Millersburg, Lorraine Miller, Cassopolis, Michigan, Betty (Eldon) Chupp, Arthur, Illinois; and sister-in-law, Clara Miller, Arthur, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brian Dale Hochstetler; grandchildren, Joseph Eli Hochstetler, Marilyn Kay Hochstetler; and brother, Melvin M. Miller.
Family and friends may call after 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 25, and all day Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the family residence, 10097 N 1000 W, Nappanee.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, also at their residence.
Bishop John Henry Borkholder and the Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate. Burial will be in Graber Cemetery.
