Emma Swartzentruber, 92, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Greencroft Health Care Center.
She was born Nov. 9, 1924, in Kokomo, to Henry B. and Esther (Beachy) Yoder.
On Nov. 25, 1948, in Plain City, Ohio, she married Enos Swartzentruber. He died July 31, 2007.
Surviving are six daughters, Esther (Owen) Hershberger and Carol (Harry) Scribner, both of Goshen, Mary Swartzentruber of Hutchinson, Kansas, Becky (Al) Yoder of Sarasota, Florida, Rhoda (Menno) Hochstedler of Topeka, and Alma (Alfred) Yoder of Rosedale, Ohio; son, Dale (Elsie) Swartzentruber of Nappanee; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren, nine stepgreat-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jonas Yoder of Jamesport, Missouri, John Yoder of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, Lester Yoder of Garnett, Kansas, and Henry (Viola) Yoder of Kalona, Iowa; and a sister, Alma (Glen S.) Miller of Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Naomi Swartzentruber; three sisters, Bertha Bontrager, Fannie Gingerich and Ruby Yoder; and two brothers, Allen and Ezra Yoder.
She was a homemaker and a member of Griner Mennonite Church. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, flower gardening, putting together jigsaw puzzles and playing table games.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Monday, Aug. 14 at Griner Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Rev. DeWayne Yoder and Rev. Robert Riegsecker.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen.
