Elsie A. Linthicum, 95, Goshen, died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at Courtyard Healthcare of Goshen.
She was born Dec. 16, 1921, in Rome City, to Arthur and Emma (Snyder) Franklin.
She married Nelson Linthicum Nov. 25, 1936, in Rome City. He died Oct. 8, 1986.
Surviving are granddaughters, Ruth Getz and Cathy Getz, both of Goshen, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; daughter, Phyllis Getz; sisters, Patricia McCoy, Lucille Gage, Wava Robertson and Mary Ganger; and brothers, Bernard Franklin, James Franklin and Arthur Franklin.
Elsie operated the Redskins Sandwich Shop for 17 years. She also worked at the Goshen High School cafeteria for 20 years.
A member of Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church since 1951, Elsie taught Sunday school and Bible school. She enjoyed music and was an influence for many young people. Most importantly, her family meant the world to her. She was always taking care of others.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, where the funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20. Pastor Harold Knight will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorials may be directed to Courtyard Healthcare or Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church.
