Elmer I. Neff


Elmer I. Neff, 91, died Saturday, May 11, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing.
He was born Feb. 18, 1928, in Elkhart, to Murrill and Bernice (Clark) Neff.
On Sept. 18, 1948, he married Dorothy L. Lemler in Nappanee.
She survives along with two children, Diane (Harvey) Rodman and Jerry (Jessica) Neff, both of New Paris; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Hollar, Goshen; and a brother, Robert Neff, New Paris.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Waneta Kuczynski and Anna Mary Wilhelm, and a brother, Harold "Bud" Neff.
An Army veteran, Elmer co-owned, with his brothers, Neff Mason Contracting for 45 years. He was an avid fisherman, tallying his daily catches on a calendar. He also enjoyed deer hunting and mushroom hunting.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 15, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where a 10 a.m. funeral will be conducted Thursday, May 16. Pastor Rob Nelson, Grace United Methodist Church, New Paris, will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Hospice and Home Care or Grace United Methodist Church.
