After a year battling the increasing pain of osteoporosis, heart issues and doctors trying to manage the pain, Ella Richmond woke up Thursday afternoon, Sept. 14, in the presence of her Lord in Heaven. She knew that "absent from the body was to be present with her Lord ..." Praising our Lord and Savior, she is now pain free and has a new perfect body.
Preceding her in death is her husband of 55 years, Kenneth R. Richmond; their son, David K. Richmond; Ella's brothers, Ray Metcalf Jr. and Herb Metcalf; and her sister, Vera (Robert) Overmyer.
Passing their legacy on to their surviving daughter, Marcia (Stephen) Nusbaum; Ella's sisters, Dian (Roger) Nusbaum and Darlene (Randy) Price; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration service will take place Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Calvary Baptist Church, Elkhart. Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service officiated by Pastor Timothy Wesco of Calvary Baptist Church.
Burial will take place at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.
