Elizabeth "Liz"'s Story
Elizabeth "Liz" Miller, 83, Goshen, passed away at 1:35 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at Goshen Hospital as the result of an apparent heart attack.
She was born Jan. 1, 1935, in Middlebury, to Samuel E. and Millie (Bontrager) Weirich.
On June 7, 1953, in Middlebury, she married Wilbur L. Miller, who survives.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Jerry (Janet) Miller, Dayton, Ohio; four daughters, Connie (Joe) Sample, Goshen, Vickie (Scott) Blaisdell, Ottawa Lake, Michigan, Kathy (Daniel) Kreager and Wanda (Darrell) Moore, both of Goshen; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Weaver and Lydia Mae (Paul) Ganger, both of Goshen; two brothers, Joas (Pat) Weirich and Samuel (Verna) Weirich Jr., both of Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jason Miller; and four brothers, Enos, Levi, Eli and Manasses Weirich.
Liz was a homemaker and had done residential house cleaning. She was an avid sports fan, specifically for the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame. She was a member of the Jefferson Community Church. She enjoyed playing cards, especially with her sister, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 S. Main St., Middlebury.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, also at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by Pastor Ken Hunn.
Burial will be at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
