Eli Miller, 86, formerly of Amboy, died at 3:50 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at Greencroft Health Care Center, Goshen. He had been in declining health the past few years.
He was born June 24, 1931, in Howard County, to Ezra and Tillie (Gingerich) Miller.
On Oct. 4, 1951, in Odon, he married Fannie Wagler; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are seven daughters, Martha (Eugene) Schwietert of Goshen, Anna (Paul) Mullet of Amboy, Marilyn (Keith) Hershberger of Kokomo, Clara (Roy) Walker of Greentown, Jane (David) Kranz of Forest, Karon (Rick) Johnson of Russiaville, and Darlene (Steve) Cross of Middlebury; three sons, Alvin (Kim) Miller of Bunker Hill, Wayne (Christina) Miller of Kokomo, and Jason (Laura) Miller of Wabash; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Harvey (Shirley) Miller of Kokomo; two sisters, Silva (Benny) Graber of Crawford, Mississippi, and Ruby Carter of Belleview, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jerry Miller; a grandson, Brandon Sommers; and a sister, Emma Graber.
Eli was a member of Siloam Fellowship, Goshen, and former member of Howard-Miami Mennonite Church in Kokomo. He was also a member of USTA (United States Trotting Association), ISA (Indiana Standardbred Association) and the Indiana Draft Horse Breeders Association. He was a retired farmer and delivery man for Graber Supply in Amboy. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Siloam Fellowship, Goshen, and from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Howard-Miami Mennonite Church, Kokomo. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, also at Howard-Miami Mennonite Church. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Vern Hostetler and Rev. Lee Miller.
Burial will be in Christner Cemetery in Howard County.
Memorials may be given to Goshen Hospital Hospice.
