Eleanor's Story

Eleanor M. Schmucker, 89, Nappanee, died at 4:45 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, 2017 at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, where she had resided for one year.
She was born June 15, 1928, in Nappanee, to Claude and Gladys (Leasenby) Stout.
Mrs. Schmucker lived her lifetime in Nappanee. She attended Nappanee schools.
On Dec. 20, 1946, she married Tony Raymond "Bud" Schmucker. He survives, along with their children, Connie Peach, Peru, Tod (Laurie) Schmucker, Alan (Mona) Schmucker, both of Nappanee; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Bob Peach and brothers, Leonard and Richard Stout.
Mrs. Schmucker was a homemaker and a member of First Mennonite Church. She enjoyed singing, yodeling and playing music.
Family and friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service, Tuesday, Oct. 10, all at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. The Rev. Janet McFall-Brown will officiate.
Burial will be at South Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to First Mennonite Church.
