Dorothy Slabaugh, 55, Nappanee, died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, after an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 18, 1962, in Bremen, to Elmer A. and Rosa (Borkholder) Slabaugh. Dorothy was a lifetime area resident and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She is survived by her mother, Rosa Slabaugh, Bremen; brothers, Delbert (Ruby) Slabaugh, Shipshewana, Amos (Amanda) Slabaugh, New Paris, Dennis (AnnaFern) Slabaugh, Bourbon, Nelson (Sharon) Slabaugh and Ernest (Marlene) Slabaugh, both of Milford, Jerry (Irene) Slabaugh, Cadwell, Illinois, Daniel Slabaugh, New Paris; sisters, Sylvia Slabaugh, Bremen, RoseMary (Leon W.) Miller, Shipshewana, Anna (Perry G.) Miller, Arthur, Illinois, Sarah (Marlin) Helmuth, Bremen, and Ruth (Danny Jr.) Miller, Arcola, Illinois; sister-in-law, Kathryn Slabaugh, New Paris; 38 nephews; 42 nieces; and 49 great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer A. Slabaugh; brother, Devon Slabaugh; and nephew, Daniel Miller.
Family and friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, and all day Friday, Dec. 1, at the James Schwartz residence, 30580 C.R. 56, Nappanee.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, also at James Schwartz residence. Bishops Lonnie Kauffman and Eli Lehman and the home ministers of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate.
Burial will follow at Weldy Cemetery.
