Dorothy Mae Hershberger, 87, died Monday, Oct. 30, at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, where she had resided the past year.
She was born March 5, 1930, in Goshen, to John and Fanny (Nisley) Hershberger.
On Dec. 10, 1949, she married Martin K. Hershberger in Goshen. He died Feb. 28, 2010.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Sue) Hershberger, Elkhart, Dale (Deb) Hershberger, Goshen, and Wayne (Carrie) Hershberger, Miami, Florida; daughter-in-law, Lynda Hershberger, Goshen; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and sister, Mary Rheinheimer, Plymouth.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Galen D. Hershberger, and four brothers, Calvin, Lloyd, Ervin and Jay Hershberger.
Dorothy, along with her husband, Martin, was a lifelong area resident and former owner of Hershberger Heating Inc.
Dorothy was a loving homemaker who was known for her great barbecue chicken. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and sewing and cherished spending time with grandchildren.
Friends may call Monday, Nov. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where an 11 a.m. memorial service will take place Tuesday, Nov. 7. Senior Pastor Frank Ramirez, Union Center Church of the Brethren, Nappanee, will officiate.
Burial at Clinton Brick Cemetery, Goshen, will take place prior to the service.
