Delbert Ray Morningstar, 93, Wakarusa, died at 4:07 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Harrison Township, Elkhart County, to Henry and Pearl (Loucks) Morningstar.
He married Gladys (Ramer) Morningstar Nov. 23, 1944, at the home of the Rev. Frances Freed. She died Oct. 23, 2014.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol Jean (Neil) Fogo and sons, Glenn Lamar (JoAnn) Morningstar, and Kenny Lee (Connie) Morningstar, all of Wakarusa; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Gladys; son, Robert Dean Morningstar; stepgrandson, Scott Fogo; brother, Mervin Leroy Morningstar; and sister, Vera Hurst.
Delbert was a farmer for 43 years and drove school bus for Wa-Nee School District for 21 years. He also worked at Great Creations, Nappanee, until he was 91.
He was a member of the Wakarusa Missionary Church and enjoyed woodworking, RV camping and fishing.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa, and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service Monday, Nov. 20, at Wakarusa Missionary Church, 202 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. Pastor Harold Knight and Pastor Chris Knight will officiate.
Burial will follow at Yellow Creek Cemetery.
