Dale Eugene Schwalm, 87, Wakarusa, died at 7:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Cottage Gardens in Goshen.
He was born July 20, 1930, at home in Olive Township, to Arthur and Mabel (Holmes) Schwalm. Dale lived his lifetime in Wakarusa.
His first marriage was to Arlene Schmucker, June 11, 1950.
His second marriage was to Lorna (Wenger) Troxel Dec. 29, 1978.
Dale was a 1948 graduate of Wakarusa High School and enjoyed going to his class reunions. He was a lifetime farmer and drove school bus for Wa-Nee School Corporation for 30 years. He was a member of Wakarusa Missionary Church and a 10 year 4-H Beef Club member.
Mr. Schwalm is survived by his wife, Lorna Schwalm; daughter, Wanda (Ken) Clem, Wakarusa; stepsons, Kevin (Sue) Troxel, Wakarusa, Rick Troxel, Tippecanoe; eight grandchildren, Tonya Carl, Stephanie Hufford, Sean Clem, Tammy Schwalm, Tracy Schwalm, Alex Troxel, Andy Troxel, Christie Troxel; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Hartman, Wakarusa; and former wife, Arlene Dinehart, Wakarusa.
He was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Connie Schwalm; sisters, Marie Hartman, Margaret Nusbaum, Beulah Howe, Esther Husband; and brother, Fremont Schwalm.
Family and friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa, and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday, Feb. 23, at Wakarusa Missionary Church. Pastors Chris and Harold Knight will officiate.
Burial will be at Olive West Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Cottage Gardens or Wakarusa Missionary Church.
The family would like to thank Cottage Gardens and staff for their loving care of Dale the last two years.
