Clara Hochstetler, 100, Goshen, passed away peacefully at her home at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7.
She was born April 24, 1917, in Morocco, to Menno and Amanda (Hochstetler) Anderson.
On Nov. 7, 1946, she married Ben R. Hochstetler in Morocco. He died Oct. 28, 1992.
Surviving are two daughters, Martha (David) Cross, Goshen, Rosemary (Delbert) Bontrager, Ligonier; four sons, Melvin (Carol) Hochstetler, Elkhart, Harvey (Carolyn) Hochstetler, Pickle Lake, Ontario, Canada, Alvin (Ruth) Hochstetler, Fredericksburg, Ohio, Henry (Caroline) Hochstetler, Ponder, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosa Lohr, Kentland, Tillie Shank, Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Ivan Hochstetler; one grandson; five sisters, Emma Yoder, Sarah Harshberger, Fannie Kauffman, Millie Miller, Katie Anderson; three brothers, Henry, Rudy and Andy Anderson.
Clara was a prayer warrior, praying daily especially for each of her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Woodlawn Mennonite Church. She enjoyed traveling, making quilts, gardening, reading her Bible and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Woodlawn Mennonite Church, 62861 C.R. 41 Goshen.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday Feb. 11, also at Woodlawn Mennonite Church. Services will be conducted by the Woodlawn ministry team.
Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Goshen.
