Charles L. Myers, 96, Wakarusa, formerly of Goshen, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
He was born April 4, 1921, in Wakarusa, to Abram and Edna (Wallace) Myers.
He married Mary (Neely) Myers in 1943.
Surviving are his wife, Mary, Wakarusa; son, Jim (Norene) Myers, Elkhart; daughter, Cindy LaCounte, Goshen; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; son-in-law, Phillip Kramer; brother, Harold Myers; sister, Miriam Allen; and brothers, Kenneth Myers and John Myers.
Charles was a graduate of Wakarusa High School where he was a track star. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Charles was a local auctioneer for more than 30 years. He had his own auction barn and furniture store which he built himself. He also built his own home.
He was a past director of the Civil Defense Unit, Goshen, for several years and was a former member of the Beagle Club, Bristol. His hobbies in later years were making model stagecoaches and reading.
Charlie's family had a lot of fun with him and he will be greatly missed.
All services will be private.
