Catherine's Story

Catherine C. Hochstetler, 91, Goshen, formerly of Nappanee, died at 3 a.m. Monday, March 5, at The Maples of Waterford Crossing, Goshen.
She was born Feb. 27, 1927, in Jasper County, to Samuel Arlie and Jessie Mae (Spriggs) Sanders. Catherine lived most of her lifetime in this area.
On Sept. 6, 1947, she married Robert Hochstetler. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1982.
Catherine had worked at Blue Bell, Holiday Rambler, Memcorp and at the Corner Store. She was also a seamstress. She was a member of the American Legion and the VFW Auxiliary. Catherine bowled in Bremen.
She is survived by her children, Mardelle Wenger, Fort Wayne, Ralph (Linda) Hochstetler, Batesville, Darrell Hochstetler, Nappanee, Debby Slusser (Terry Talbot), North Webster; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hochstetler; and nine siblings.
Graveside services will take place at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 8, at South Union Cemetery. Darin Arnott, Catherine's grandson, will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be given to American Diabetes/Heart Association.
Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
