Bruce D. McClintic, 92, Milford, passed away Monday, Feb. 5, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Milford.
He was born Jan. 5, 1926, to Eston and Blanche McClintic, in Syracuse.
He married Eva J. Wineland, April 26, 1947. She passed Jan. 1, 2015.
Bruce was a beloved member of the Milford community for many years. For 20 years, he worked as a crane operator at Sturm & Dillard Gravel Company. He also worked as a mechanic for Phend & Brown and later, C.S. Myers Ford.
Bruce was truly patriotic and loved his country deeply. Early on, he honorably served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a seaman 1st class. He also served as post commander for the American Legion in Milford for many years and was a member of the VFW, DAV and the 40th and 8th. Later, he had the opportunity to join his comrades on the Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
Bruce was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Joellen Free, Milford; son, Jerry (Barb) McClintic, Milford; stepson, Jack (Christine) Stump, Milford; two granddaughters, Jennifer Garcia, Milford, and Suellen Kipp, Fort Myers, Florida; four grandsons, John (Nicole) Free, Price Utah, Doug Free, Las Vegas, Nevada, Chad (Kim) McClintic and Josh (Abby) McClintic, both of North Webster; great-grandsons, Bruno, Adam, Abraham, Landon, Weston and Chase; great-granddaughters, Madison, Alyssa and Madelyn.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Eva McClintic; four brothers, Jim McClintic, Charles McClintic, John McClintic and Harry McClintic; and a sister, Elizabeth Bassett.
A funeral service with military honors in honor of Bruce will take place at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Milford, Saturday, Feb. 10 at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
