Bertha Catherine Goetz, 96, Goshen, died 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born July 12, 1921, in Elkhart, to Henry J. and Sarah C. (Wenger) Burkholder. She married Virgil Roy Goetz Nov. 1, 1946; he died Jan. 16, 1985.
Surviving are children, Dale Goetz, Goshen, Ronald (Patricia) Goetz, Goshen, and Joanne (Bruce) Sharick, Green Bay, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Jennifer (James) Brosius, Goshen, Lisa (Anthony) Frecker, Goshen, Matthew (Tyler) Sharick, Green Bay, Wisconsin, Adam Sharick, Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Erin (Jonathan) Welch, Washington D.C.; two great-grandchildren, Jarrett and Reed Frecker; sister, Mildred Yoder, Goshen; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Kehr, Goshen.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Virgil; brothers, Lowell and Clayton Burkholder; and sisters, Ruth Yoder and Esther Hoover.
Bertha was a homemaker who loved to crochet, sew, garden and cook. She was a member of the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service, Monday, Nov. 13, at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, 64901 C.R. 11, Goshen. Pastor Wes Bontreger will officiate and burial will follow at Yellow Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.
