Ada Mae Bontrager, 88, Shipshewana, died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, at her daughter's residence in Goshen.
She was born June 28, 1929, in LaGrange County, to Levi J. and Mary (Mast) Eash.
On Dec. 8, 1949, in LaGrange County, she married Levi E. Bontrager. He died Oct. 12, 2016.
Surviving are seven sons, Daniel (Anna) Bontrager, Jamesport, Missouri, David (Cheri) Bontrager, Shelbyville, Samuel (Rhonda) Bontrager, Hope, Ervin (Linda) Bontrager and Melvin (Ann) Bontrager, both of Shipshewana, Ray (Regina) Bontrager, Three Rivers, Michigan, Earl (Angela) Bontrager, Columbus; five daughters, Esther (Lamar) Hochstetler, Middlebury, Freda (David) Zehr, Goshen, Wilma (Galen) Miller, Millersburg, Mary (Aden) Chupp, Nappanee, Irene (Vernon) Schmucker, Shipshewana; 56 grandchildren; 96 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Bontrager, LaGrange, Edna (Elmer) Lehman, Shipshewana; two sisters-in-law, Amanda Eash, Bloomfield, Iowa, Anna Marie Eash, LaGrange.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; stillborn son, Perry Bontrager; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Compton and Elijah Helmuth; two brothers, Ervin and Daniel Eash.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after noon Tuesday, Jan. 9, and all day Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the family residence, 2135 S. 1200 West, Shipshewana, where funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday Jan. 11. Services will be conducted by Bishop Karl Dean Miller and the home ministers.
Burial will be at Townline Cemetery, Shipshewana.
